David L. Principe, MD, is a maternal-fetal medicine specialist practicing in Clifton, New Jersey. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Principe completed his bachelor’s degree in biology at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. He earned his medical degree at St. George’s School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He then completed residency programs in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey. Dr. Principe furthered his training with a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Chicago Lying-in Hospital in Illinois, and in obstetrical ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut.
After completing his fellowships, Dr. Principe served as an assistant professor for maternal-fetal medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. He then served as an attending physician for obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine at Newark Beth Israel Hospital and Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Currently, Dr. Principe is the Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Hoboken University Medical Center in the CarePoint Healthcare system. He is an attending perinatologist at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. In addition to this, he is also the consulting maternal-fetal medicine specialist for many OB/GYN practices in the tri-state area.
